For everyone who was worried about my trip: I got here to Prince George safe and sound!
The bus ride from Vancouver was better than I thought it would be. Although it took me 12 hours it didn't feel like it all. Time just flew by looking outside the window because the landscape is fascinating! Starting in the City of Vancouver with an amazing sunrise, going over to the lower mainland with evergreen trees, mountains and driving along a river, then passing almost a deserty environment and ending up in the middle of nowhere surrounded by just trees and snow. A lot of snow. Just for you geting an idea: only today it's been snowing all day long and we got 7 inches (20cm) of new snow. And it hasen't stopped snowing since.
So the first night I was just overwhelmed by the ten dogs which are living in the house and passed away pretty quickly. The next morning we got up at 8am to feed the dogs (and a lama, two sheeps and a goat) and pick up the poo. Besides the ten dogs inside we have twelve more living in a barn just up a hill from the house which of course need to be taken care of as well. The animals come always first which means that us people are having breakfast after all the animals are full and happy. To sum up the first day, all I can say is that it was really canadian! Blueberry pancakes with maple syrup for breakfast, then snowmobiling and dog sledding during the day and watching hockey at night. Today the day started similar with feeding the dogs and breakfast. Then we loaded 16 dogs up on the truck to drive over to a friends place for dog sledding and sitting by the bonfire. Just having a nice day with friends :)
I've already experienced so much in the last two days that I really don't know where to start telling you about it and I'm really excited for the upcoming week! I feel so comfortable here, enjoying the nature and most of all the lovely dogs which are all so cuddly and friendly and I'm loving them already! And I don't think I could've picked a better place to spend my next time at! :)
I will keep you updated!
Lots of love,
Lena ♡
